The Sri Lanka Cricket Board took a stern decision on Wednesday and handed spinner Suraj Randiv, who had denied Virender Sehwag a century with a deliberate no-ball, a one-match ban, also fining him 100 per cent of his match fee.The ban means Randiv will miss Thursday’s match against New Zealand in Dambulla.Senior Lankan batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan, who apparently asked the bowler to bowl a no-ball, has also been fined 100 percent of his match fee.

“As such Sri Lanka Cricket has taken a stern decision against Suraj Randiv and TM Dilshan, for their actions during the 3rd ODI of the Micromax Tri-Series held on August 16, 2010, wherein Virender Sehwag was deprived of scoring his century due to the delivery of a no-ball by Suraj Randiv,” the press release by the Lankan Board said.

A new version of Alien Swarm – a top-down shooting game developed in-house by Valve’s mod team – will be released today, July 19.The new Alien Swarm will join the likes of Team Fortress, Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat, all of which were initially started off as mods by Valve; and subsequently converted into full games.

Alien Swarm was basically a total conversion mod for Unreal Tournament 2004, created in 2008 Black Cat Games, which was later hired by Valve and assigned the task of developing Left 4 Dead series and Portal 2. Black Cat apparently also worked out a way to come up with the new, highly impressive Alien Swarm version.Alien Swarm is essentially a bug-hunting tactical shooter that will be completely free via Steam, Valve’s online distribution portal. The game boasts four-player co-op, a leveling system, and an armory of over 40 weapons.

In addition, since Valve is also updating the Source SDK, players who want to try putting levels together for the game, will have the requisite tools to do so.

Allowing the players a selection from eight different character skins, the squad-based tactical shooter features both single-player and multiplayer action, largely pertaining to the hunting down and slaughter alien bugs – with up to four players having the advantage of selecting from a quartet of IAF Marine classes.

The Elite version will see a dip from $299.99 to $249.99.

Also the Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition will drop from $399.99 to $349.99. Call of Duty game, has learned a few things from Infinity Ward. The newest trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops has been released, and if the trailer is any indication, the game’s campaign will follow a more cinematic track than Treyarch’s last entry, Call of Duty: World at War. WaW followed multiple storylines, but lacked the cinematic staging and “Hollywood movie” feel that Modern Warfare 2 thrived on.

Other than the way the game might be directed, the trailer doesn’t really show us anything new, but it does confirm what we have already heard. The conflict will take place in multiple locations, including a SE Asian setting (almost certainly Vietnam), it will feature Cold War era tech including an SR-71 Blackbird, and it features a new set of weapons including an explosive tipped crossbow. Oh, and it looks kinda awesome.Expect to hear more and more about this game as Activision tries to prove that they-n-need-no-stinkin’ Infinity Ward.
